It is important for us, as humans,

to understand what things look like when we don’t touch them

About Me

I’m Evan Cook and I am a high school senior fascinated by nature. As long as I can remember, my family has taken, and sometimes dragged, me along on what can be described as mild nature expeditions. While we did not avoid popular locations like the Grand Canyon and Yosemite, we didn’t flock to them. However, that mentality exposed me to a very raw form of natural beauty without ignorance-proof railings, armed guards, and commercial hotels. I am certain that those experiences have greatly benefited me. That is why I have made it my mission to encourage others to follow in my family’s footsteps…well, maybe for their sake just our general direction.

However, don’t take me as a future park ranger, for I am nothing close to that. Most of my time is spent in my suburban house, at my suburban school, or at the local golf course. I love video games and crime drama’s. That is why I became interested in this idea – I am drawn to nature but I also live in a city. I know how hard it is to do what my family does, but I also know why it should be done.

Utah Sites

My favorite locations to visit are mostly all in Utah. I personally love Utah’s beauty. It is truly one of the most unique places on earth in terms of the nature it holds. A good amount of the state was under water millions of years ago, so there are a lot of amazing and special geological formations that you can find there. My favorite of those is the slot canyon. These very narrow canyons are a lot of fun to climb around and are incredibly beautiful…that is unless it is raining. Never go into a slot canyon during the rain!
